MT BEAUTY, VIC, February 26, 2022 - It was party time on the start line of stage 3 as we had our weekend riders join the ranks and goats and leopards making an on the start with an effort to take out the best dressed prize.
Stage 3 may have been the shortest of the 4 but it definitely didn’t disappoint when it came to technical trails. Set in Big Hill MTB Park, one of the oldest and most respected trail networks in the region, this course has a different feel to it. Course Designer, Shannon Rademaker said “these trails are hand-cut gems and don’t follow the standard recipe of modern trails.”
Riders tackled 25.5km and 693m of vert in this fun, fast and furious course, proving popular amongst the riders with smiles for miles on the finish line. Both locals and interstaters were stoked with how this one rode, a highlight for The GOAT in 2022.
Today, the mini shredders and future GOAT champions got a chance to get amongst the action as the Billy GOAT skills clinics took to the Big Hill MTB Park. They had an absolute blast and can’t wait for another slice of the action tomorrow at Pioneer Park and Mystic MTB Park.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and tomorrow sees The GOAT conclude with Stage 4 back at everyone’s favorite, Mystic MTB Park.
Rademaker said ‘We are going out with a bang. We’ve saved the best for last and we’ll be hearing yewwws all through the valley’. He said ‘riders will be zipping around 2 laps of the 16km loop through Mystic with a mouth watering serve of curated single track.’
What a way to conclude the very first GOAT. What an epic time it’s been!
